Because GE money bank employees thought I sounded like a female, they said suspected fraud and closed all my accounts, even though the payments have been made on time directly from my checking account bearing my name.
The funny thing is I am a police detective. Each time a call was placed to these people, which was minimal they called me ma'am and I said I am a man and verified all info. I never called Amazon.com until today when checking to see if the payment was received and discovered my account was closed to further purchases, as well as my Walmart (first payment was due 11/11/11 and JC Penney. The person on the phone at Amazon.com credit (not american)said he couldn't tell me why but a letter was sent to my address. The same address that all purchases were delivered to.
I definitely understand fraud protection, but I was not having things sent to a different address or changing address. Also, I received the pre-approval certificate from Walmart. When trying to add my wife as an authorized user on JC Penney, the person on the phone said I'm sorry you don't sound like a man, which I suspect caused this when I was rude back to the person on the phone and took offense to the whole process. Even though I verified the information required, called from my home phone listed on the application. The associated was laughing and saying I needed to go into the store to show id to add my wife as a user of this card (200.00 credit limit). My wife said she could just order on line if I didn't want to go in the store".
