GE Money Bank complaint by Certifiednut
Not once, not twice, but EIGHT times, in one day, up to 11 o'clock at night, those people called a poor 85 year old woman, demanding she get caught up on her payment for Lowes. When we called to speak to a supervisor a man by the name of Steven said "The supervisors name is Ethan Lawson" When I called for him the next day the same man said there was no "Ethan Lawson" that worked there as a supervisor. And they call and call and call....We keep telling them we made arrangements with the store threw customer care to pay her bill. Do they listen? No. Do they speak english? No. Finally I contacted someone who spoke english and had it arranged that no one outside the USA call this poor woman...FINALLY! some who spoke english!!!!

First off...Pay your bills everyone. Secondly, customer care at the store has no way of documenting the credit account that the bank holds. As for the other responces...Only 2 months behind??? That's a pretty big deal for any credit, considering most accounts are charged off at 6 months, repos are at 3 months behind, as well as foreclosure filings. As for the bankruptcy...Collectors can call you every day until you file, they are not forbidden by law to call you until you actually file.

I had a number of similar calls. But the American collections department isn't much better. They are very hostile, use fear tactics and never answer questions directly. Was called 8:30 this morning by the collections department, yelled at. Told I refused to pay and would put down as such. Concerned. I asked what refusal to pay meant in this case (meaning what is the technical or legal meaning of the term in the context of this call). The guy flipped and shouted he already told me what it meant, that I had an agreement to pay and didn't pay. He then hung the phone up on me. I was really ticked off. Especially since I was only two months behind, and it was because I recently changed jobs. I wanted to learn more about my options, but wasn't given the opportunity. It was pay, or get marked down.

i just got a call from them myself. the number shown on my phone was a cincinnati number which, upon hitting redial, elicited a recording saying it was not a working number. the caller had left a voicemail message with a different number for me to call but his english was so heavily accented (seemingly indian accent) i couldn't understand what he was saying. i did hear him announce himself as steven from ge moneybank. i am presently in process of bankruptcy and they are forbidden by law from calling anyway as i have twice informed them. not that i care, but it does indicate a pattern.
