I agree....they raise their rates, without telling you. Don't ever, ever get Ge money bank.....Your first mistake, is going to the dentist, Gentle Dentisty, then they charge you, outrageous amount, then u get a carecredit card, in the mail, then u get a bill from Ge money bank, for dental work, that HAS to be done. They want u to pay ahead, before your dental work is done. always, check with the credit bureau, this web site first, before u buy, or get anything done, for yourself. Don't ever sign anything, before checking with the credit bureau.

I thought that only I was having heaps of issues with GE Money. It seems like I cam certainly not alone. Have been having problems with this "vulture" mob for so many years now and have no where else to turn!!! I took out a loan (via refinancing) about 5 years ago with a mortgace broker (YES Home loans) and somewhere along the way, the loans trusteeship ended up with GE Money. I have been having problems ever since. I am now repaying the loan at an interest rate of 9.8% or thereabouts (the market at the moment is around 7.5%). No amount of pleading or anything has worked. Moreover, I am stuck with these guys because post GFC the banks have now tightened up and refuse to refinance the loan and the LMI is excessively prohibitive. I thought us 'poor folk' in Australia are immunce to the clutches and greed of the BIG multinationals, but obviously I was very wrong!! One word of advice to anybody that would care to listen......if it is GE Money, take your business elsewhere!! an aussie battler (more than happy to supply more detail if needed!!!)

I have been a QVC customer for year. Having just returned from hospital from serious surgery, and trying to stay on top of my obligations, I called QVC to find out if I owed anything...I was told..that they could not give me any information without the QVC credit card number. It is not QVC its GE Money bank, and I have never received a credit card from them, therefore have no number. They told me to go get an old statement....this is after I told them I Have come home from hospital....from serious sugrery...I cannot move around!!!! Bottom Line: They refused to give my any information about my account. They also refused to close my account!!!! I plan ot report QVC and GE Money Bank to the federal consumers union.

They are a night mare to deal with. My account won't let me long on to pay my bill, it keeps asking me for a card number.

I don't have a card, never received one.

I have called and called and no one will help me. It seems like a way to make sure my payment is late so I can be assessed outragous fees.

GE Money Creditcard not adjusting available credit when paid CASH

I paid with a check at first in a local store on 3/14. Cleared my bank on 3/17. on 3/29 account showed payment received but did not reflect this in my available credit. Customer service said it was being held but couldn't explain why after I told them my check had cleared on 3/17. Made credit card payment in store using CASH on 4/8 to prevent issue. On 4/21 account showed payment received but AGAIN available credit did not reflect this. Customer service said they were holding it. What the heck are they holding??? Customer Service suggested I call every time I make a payment. Yeah like I've got time to sit on hold. Getting rid of this card.

GE Money not willing to work to help resolve customer issues and complaints!

I am upset as I have been around and around with this complaint over and over to GE Money bank from a Dillard's card I had. I had been a long time customer of Dillard's GE Money Bank (Opened in 1999 – 2009). In September 2009, I could not log in to the website to access the payment online forum. I had changed emails and was locked out of the email account I signed up with Dillard's for, and I could not remember my password. The only way I could retrieve my password was to enter my email address to get it retrieved online, I even spoke to customer service regarding this and they told me that they could not retrieve it unless I could access my old email. I told them I would try to get with Bell South (my old email service provider) and get it resolved so that I could access my Dillard's credit card online and make a payment. I liked to make my payments online as it was easy and fast. Sometimes, I would go into the Dillard's store to do this, but mostly online as I own my own business and work long hours. Unfortunately, Bell South was unable to give me access to my old email at all. I decided that I would make a payment at my local store, but got busy with work and forgot. At that point the balance I had on the card was only $70.00 and some odd change. It had been months since I had carried a large balance and for well over two years prior to 2009, I had always tried to pay off most if not all of the balance by the next billing cycle if possible so as not to carry a large balance. During this time as well (I would say for about four to five months prior to September 2009), my credit limit was lowered increasingly more and more lowered even though I had no real debt, nor owed much of anything to anyone, nor had been late at all on my payments to GE Money Bank through Dillard's credit card. I got busy with work, and I didn't go to the Dillard's store to make the payment because I forgot about it. October came and the same problem happened. At that point, I finally called customer service and took care of the payment. Shortly thereafter I found out that I had two months of late payments showing up on my credit reports. I have tried to resolve this issue over and over again by writing to Dillard's credit services GE Money Bank, writing to the BBB, writing to the various credit agencies to try to ask Dillard's and mainly GE Money Bank to remove these late pays from my credit reports. I have received basic to no responses. I feel that because I have been a long term customer, and that because I have not had any problems prior to this issue with GE Money Bank, the reporting of September 2009, and October 2009 30days late, should be removed from my all 3 credit reports. Some agencies report only the September 30 days late which is accurate, some report Oct and Sept 2009 which is not accurate. To this point it has come to nothing and I hope this can be resolved as I am trying to remedy my credit, and I have very little issues with my record other than this with GE Money Bank. To this date GE Money Bank has not been cooperative at all and I am pissed!

Gemoneybank 100% non-customer friendly. they refuse to take even cancer surgery into consideration

When arriving home from the hospital from cancer surgery, I called the merchant that uses gemoney (hhgregg) and asked if somehow we could get to the store, and pay our payment. No. that was the answer. The payment was not due til April 21, but, we wanted to make sure it got there in time. Checked with gemoney bank. No one to talk to. Its was Sunday. But the computer voice was quick to say a charge of $15 to pay over phone by check! It used to be $10 and we never fot a notice. We will have to mail the payment, and hope and pray it gets there on time. This is a very difficult way to recouperate. I will report them to each and every consumer and credit agency there is out there.

I bought a bedroom set 9/10 and did the 12 months no int. Well here it is April and I try to pay it off in full and seems my account has been sold from Citi to Ge $ and when I called GE money they show I owe nothing, I know I owe something but they said I can not make a payment cause I don't owe them, So I have called Ashleys and they are not any help. I am really lost on what to do. I would hate for them to come back after the 12 months and charge me all that int. plus fees. If any of you all had this problem I would like to know

We are in the same boat! GE says "We don't have that accounty anymore", "It was bought by so-and so, call them".

We call "so-and-so" and they say the account was sent back to GE Moneybank! All we want is a payoff amount so we can sell a motorcycle and pay off the loan! I think we have talked to every citizen in India and Pakistan!! Who's running this company????

GE MONEy BANK HAS DONE IT AGAIN

I finally gave up this afternoon and closed my account. It\'s a shame as finally I had a CSR actually be helpful today, but it was to little to late.

I\'m still waiting on the mysterious letter to appear in my mailbox as well. The CSR that closed my account tried the lame approach of telling me the benefits of the card yet again, and even suggested that in an emergency I could get up to $140 cash from my credit line. He failed to mention that the interest rate for cash advances is nearly 30%, and begins IMMEDIATELY from the moment of the advance, if I read the fine print properly.

I sure do wish these people would have been more helpful, and understanding.

We might have resolved the issue in a mutually beneficial manner.

Maybe in the future, when my credit improves a bit more, I will re-apply for one of their cards. Until then, I will look in other places for a Visa card.

Spoke to customer service yet again, as per instructions from their secure message site. He informed me that we had nothing to discuss until I get this mysterious letter that has yet to arrive.

He also informed me that all credit decisions at GE Money Bank are determined by computer, and no human has any decision making in the process.

I find that extremely hard to believe. They can\'t tell me it\'s all a matter of computer decision.

I am still in dispute over a credit card I was issued that I did not apply for in the first place. GE Money Bank will not give me a direct answer, nor will they give me a valid phone number where I can speak to somebody above Customer Service Supervisor. They said I should be getting some mysterious letter that will explain everything in detail to my satisfaction, and if not will have contact information for me to use at that time. Why can't they just give me htose things on the phone? This could be very simple. Also, their "secure comment/complaint" website, is far behind in response time. The automatic response tells you that a personal response will take no more that 48 hours. At this point they are averaging around 72 hours instead. How can I reach these people, and somebody higher up who actually makes decisions?

GE Care Credit: Not sending statements; charging late fees

This has happened twice: Care Credit did not send me email statements or mail statements (both of which I am signed up to receive). Then, I suddenly receive an email notification saying I am behind in payments and charged $30/ for each time. I called them and told them I believe what they doing is illegal and fraud and she insists that my statements must be in my junk mail. No, they aren't and isn't it mysterious that I get one now and then in my email? I then asked why aren't I getting them by mail when you have the correct address? Hmmm--no explanation. I reminded her that I have almost perfect credit. Sounds like a great way of scamming...

My wife bought a new watch and opened a line of credit for the promotional period. Retailer indicated that the first statement should be received in approx 30 days. We never received a statement and received a call after 30 days from GE inquiring about our payment. Strange to receive some kind of collections call after at the 30 day point. This was 1 day after our first payment was due.

GE had charged a late fee for this and I flipped out. The call center was obviously in India and they were extremely cavalier in that passive aggressive way...

I flipped out and called them bottom feeders with unfair business practices and paid the account in full. Too funny that their reps seem to be conditioned for abuse as they will check out of the phone call while you rant. The 3 conversations that I had with the Indians (who give themselves fictitous names like Bob, or Jim) would actually mute the call and request that I continue to repeat myself.

To make things worse, they had recorded my wife's SSN incorrectly and eventhough they had called us, they had declined to give us any information about the account or provide access to online statements. I'm not sure you can get more incompetent than that.

I managed to get my late fee back after my full balance posted, but I have yet to check my credit. Don't do business with these retards. You will regret it as their customer service is worse than a DMV agent at 4:00PM.

I've had this happen 7 different times! Last month I paid a b.s past due payment and the minimum, then still didnt received a statement.

And i really have experienced issues with my account where i couldn't get information or pay any bills. I have talked to them on the phone several times and although I am paying more than it shows to pay prior to the payment date, I continue to get late charges.

I closed my account, and I\'m still not satisfied with what they told me. I have sent letters to three different addresses now via U.S.

Mail trying to get my questions answered. I have learned that all correspondence about credit decisions must now be done through the mail due to changes in credit laws. It seems silly to me that we can\'t talk about things over the phone after exchanging letters, but GE Money Bank insists that is the case. I\'m hoping to hear from GE Money Bank any day now.

I have received four letters thus far, and they have all been unsigned form letters that give the same phone number for further assistance. This number has not been much help, and they always tell me to write a letter and give me an address. No one in their customer service department can explain anything, and even the supervisors are no help. What are these people paid for?

They answer the phone and say write a letter, goodbye. That is pretty much all you can get from them if you have a complaint.

I was issued a credit card that is for gasoline and a certain chain of stations only. I requested a Visa card and was told I had been approved. The interest rate of the card I was issued is somewhat higher, and no one seems to be able to tell me why I was issued a credit line, but don't qualify for the one I requested. I have been told by customer service that a letter explaining everything will be at my address within 30 days. Why can't anyone tell me on the phone? I have also sent requests for information on their secured website that supposedly only takes 48 hours for a response. They are averaging between four and six days at present.

GE CareCredit Scam

After reading some of these complaints, I can see that my son is not the only one that GE CareCredit has scammed. He had dental work estimated to be $10,000 on the GE CareCredit card. Come to find out that a dentist/medical professional cannot put the full amount on the card. They can only add as the work is completed. The Department of Insurance will take a complaint in your state if the dentist/doctor has done this. Anyway, son made payments on time and then bills stopped coming. He called, they said ok we'll send them. They didn't come. He called again, the balance is zero $0 he was told. So, he knew it was wrong and had the $$ to pay the balance in full. He gave them some time to get the bills coming again and instead of a bill a collection agency called - a very rude woman who laughed at him when he told her what had happened. She also threatened him with attorneys. Seems that this outfit stops sending bills, adds on interest/penalties, lies about balances, can't find any record of calls to them and ruins credit scores. Has anyone contacted the Nicole from GE Bank at the end of your complaint on this site? Has there been a resolution with her or is it just another scam? Thanks for any ideas

Walmart Money Card.

I've got a GE Money card and all was well for the most. However taxes season came along and just as i did last year i allowed my family to put there taxes in my account. Walmart states that they are able to get the money quick and this is what they were looking for. Well they blocked the card because they felt it was too many checks coming in. They ask me for document for which i provided, and everytime i call i hear something different. That's to go without saying that all thought they have the paper's, Im still dealing with a block card, for which they claim they need ten days to review. It really *** me off to know that all thought there are some people that are not trying to steal or even get over, they just want to live. Then i look down at how they allow all kinds of companies to get in and charge you over and over again. I really feel like a criminal right now.

I am looking for others to file a class action lawsuit against Walmart for using my money every week for a couple days worth of interest or whatever else they do with it. Here's the problem.

Every week I add money from my PayPal account to my Moneycard via a bank transfer. It can take 3-5 days before I can use the money. PayPal transfers the money immediately. It is almost like giving the bank the money myself.

Then the Walmart GE Bank sits on that deposit for 3-5 days before I can use it. Why is this? They are ripping us off, that's why and we have to put our foot down!!!! Sometimes it even says it is on the card but I can't use it because the vendor says the card does NOT have funds in the bank.

They embarrass me all the time doing this.

This happened to me on April 2, they decided to block my account for no apparent reason. I've had this 3 years and I've done taxes each year and have never had this problem.

They gave me the run around and finally after 3 months they finally tell me after 10 business days after 10 business day and so on and so on that it's fixed and they have decided to close my account and send my refund. This was on July 6, unfortunately it's July 25 and I still have not received my refund.

Once they unblock your card they give you online access to only find out they've charged you a monthly access fee to hold money that you didn't have access to. They also told me that my money was released on the 12th instead of the 6th like they first informed me and it would take 10 business days to receive my check in the mail.

I've had trouble free GE / WalMart prepaid Visa for 18 months. No problem until recently when I checked the account and found I had recently been charged for 15 transactions in 9 different states all to WalMart stores in locations I nor my husband have never been in.

The 1st customer service rep tried to tell me the stores were all in one location (NY). The supervisor told me how to file a report. The refund request was denied because they say I failed to keep the card and PIN secure.

They actually went a step further and said I had filed a false claim! Or at least that's what I understood the foreign accent to be saying.

How would the people on this forum know you are who you say you are....if we were to email you and someone called back they would certainly request our acct. info over the phone in order to "help"... Personally, I think this is a scam to obtain acct info!

People beware about giving your acct. info to someone over the phone who calls you...there w/o proof that this person truly works for GE.

Have SAME exact problem! I asked the rep on the phone what takes 10 days - they have the documents I provided as requested...rep had no answer and refused to let me speak to a supervisor...she just hung up.

Lost payoff

As November 18, 2010 I own to GEmoney $12935.23 and I have money for payoff. I call GEmoney and ask to payoff my balance; there was surprise when I have been told than payoff is just $6525.53. I give my bank information, received confirmation number and think than all is offer. Next month I received statement again so I call GEmoney and this time I was told than I own $6409.70 without discussion I pay what thy ask me but start checking online my account information. My account shows last payment of $6409.70 but there was missing my first payment $6525.53. So I call again give all information and have been ask to fax statement from my bank with payment. I faxed and few days later call again and have been told than my balance is zero, I even received statement with balance zero. One month later I received another statement with balance of $6525.53. I call again spoke with very rude person which hang-up on me. On February 14 I wrote to GEmoney Customer Service and received from them confirmation but in men time I received letter from collection company and GEmoney ruin my credit. On April 1, 2011 I call GEmoney have been pass 8 times to different person and finally have been told than in January I did purchase for $6525.53.

Those may have been encoding on the first payment. Call and ask if it was. If they ask for a cancelled check, it's only the verify what you're saying is correct.
