I finally gave up this afternoon and closed my account. It\'s a shame as finally I had a CSR actually be helpful today, but it was to little to late.
I\'m still waiting on the mysterious letter to appear in my mailbox as well. The CSR that closed my account tried the lame approach of telling me the benefits of the card yet again, and even suggested that in an emergency I could get up to $140 cash from my credit line. He failed to mention that the interest rate for cash advances is nearly 30%, and begins IMMEDIATELY from the moment of the advance, if I read the fine print properly.
I sure do wish these people would have been more helpful, and understanding.
We might have resolved the issue in a mutually beneficial manner.
Maybe in the future, when my credit improves a bit more, I will re-apply for one of their cards. Until then, I will look in other places for a Visa card.
Spoke to customer service yet again, as per instructions from their secure message site. He informed me that we had nothing to discuss until I get this mysterious letter that has yet to arrive.
He also informed me that all credit decisions at GE Money Bank are determined by computer, and no human has any decision making in the process.
I find that extremely hard to believe. They can\'t tell me it\'s all a matter of computer decision.

I closed my account, and I\'m still not satisfied with what they told me. I have sent letters to three different addresses now via U.S.
Mail trying to get my questions answered. I have learned that all correspondence about credit decisions must now be done through the mail due to changes in credit laws. It seems silly to me that we can\'t talk about things over the phone after exchanging letters, but GE Money Bank insists that is the case. I\'m hoping to hear from GE Money Bank any day now.
I have received four letters thus far, and they have all been unsigned form letters that give the same phone number for further assistance. This number has not been much help, and they always tell me to write a letter and give me an address. No one in their customer service department can explain anything, and even the supervisors are no help. What are these people paid for?
They answer the phone and say write a letter, goodbye. That is pretty much all you can get from them if you have a complaint.
Spoke to a Customer service supervisor this morning. She explained things a bit better, and I feel a little better about the whole situation. However, I\'m still not a big fan of GE Money Bank.

this is the worst customer service i have ever experienced! i will NEVER use ge money again.u will call...sit on hold for what seems like eternity only to be treated like ***! thanks for all you help matt 7049...u r a complete douchbag....get a different job!
