Not honoring The Soldiers and Sailors Civil Relief Act

I am deploying to Iraq and under the Soldiers and Sailors Act, I am entitled to an interest rate of 6.0% with no late fees, etc. I have called GE MoneyBank to find out where to mail in my orders. They have stalled, putting me on hold for hours at a time, given me the runaround, and they have even given me fictitious phone numbers to fax machines and one number to Consumer Credit Counseling. I'm fighting back by making online payments of $0.01 per day, a BillPay check for $0.01 per day, and writing my congressman. The memos on my checks include things like, "What would Ghandi do?" I just finished ordering copies of statements from the last six months. When they arrive, I will order them again. I encourage everyone to call and request that their rates be lowered. This will generate a letter denying your request. Do something!

GE Moneybank. Tricked me to believe an escrow account was set up

I refinanced with GE Money Bank, believing that an escrow account would be set up after one monthly payment. They got the monthly payment and then sold my account to Litton Mortgage, where again I tried to set up an escrow account with one monthly payment, and within a month they sold my Loan to Saxon mortgage, who has refused to set up the escrow. Beware companies that are working together to screw their clients over... I am preparing to take legal action against all three lenders. Because it isn't right that I should be penalized for their dishonesty!

Extremely rude and no English comprehension

I was recently a single day late on a bill with GE Money Bank. The payment should have arrived on time, but apparently the mail got delayed. I was then slapped with a late fee... and never got a bill that month. Since my bill is a set payment every month, I simply sent in my normal payment. Shortly afterwards, I get a phone call from them saying I owe them $218 for never paying my first bill! After a half-hour argument with the woman, she agreed that she was wrong, offered to waive the late fee and leave me alone. Over the course of the next two weeks, they continued to call me, again, and again, always with the same argument, the same problem, and had no clue anyone else had contacted me!

Get someone who can read and speak english

Got a call on my account from someone who could not read or speak english! I tried to answer her questions but she could not understand english. She was also very rude. I finally hung up on her after answering the same questions three or four times. Customer service? GE has no clue. They are as close to un-american as you can be. I have spent over $8,000 with GE and i can tell you when I make my last few payments they will NEVER be my lender on an account again. I will read closely who underwrites the loan and if it is GE I will go elsewhere.

I had to read the card # very slowly to 'Richard' and he still couldn't understand. I asked for someone else, he put me on hold, finally came back and said the account would be closed.

Three days later the credit card processor gets a denial notice from the GE Money/Wal Mart Money Card.

I just want my money back! (and someone who can speak english to talk to!)

GE Money closed my account for no reason

I had a line of credit with GE that was in good standing. I never had a late payment and I had a credit score of over 750. They closed the account due to "inactivity" in the past six months. This resulted in a lower personal credit score for me and they refuse to do anything about it. When I called the idiots they have working for them were rude and refused to provide me with the name of anyone in a management position that I could talk or write to in order to resolve this problem. Therefore, I'm pissed!

:cry my parents had an account with americredit for the financing oif their truck. They have paid on time for several years.

They both passed away two days apart. They had no formal will and didn't own anything they were both on permanent disability. Somehow americredit got my name and phone number (I'm their daughter) and contacted me regarding their bill, I explained I received nothing when they passed except for the financial burden of their funerals, I sent them copies of their death certificates and assumed they would leave me alone. That was in november of 2007 it is now august 2008 and they continue to call at leasr 2 times a day leaving threatening and harassing messages.*** me felt some sort of obligation and sent them about 5 b$600 payments because my parents had gotten behind, but I am in no way responsible for that debt and have told them several times to quit calling and leave me alone they have also gotten my husbands work number and called there.

It really is *** me off.

My phone is ringing now and the id shows their number, how do I get them to leave me alone? I don't want to change my number is there anything I can do?

Lies, fees, and bull ***

I used GE to fund a root canal. They set me up with a 'No interest for 8 months' deal. after the 8 months, the interest was crazy. They charge you $10 without telling you every time you make a payment by phone. I believe the late fee was $30!! They lied to me, telling me they had set me up on a plan that has not late fees, and no charge to make a payment by phone. The next time I called, I asked specifically about this charge, and I had never been set up on this plan at all. What bull! I don't remember the rest of the story, as it has been a while since I paid it off, (All at once with my tax return, and thank God i did) But I do remember that I HATE HATE HATE GE money bank!!!! And I'm not the complaining type.

Late fee is $40, no matter what you do you receive that late fee so you have to just add it to the statement balance, and don't forget the random finance charge of $50. I think my name expressed how I feel about GEMB!!

No way to contact by phone...

I've been on the website for 30 minutes and can't get a single phone number to conatact these people. When I clicked on the "contact us" section there is a picture of a good-looking lady with ....a HEADSET!!! This appears to be an optical illusion, because in order to reach this lovely creature, I would first need a TELEPHONE NUMBER!!! The only way to get that is to take it off of a statement or from the back of a credit card. As it stands, I'm ont a customer and don't have either one of those available to me. I plan on keeping it that way.

It took me awhile but I was able to contact them in regards to a BOGUS application, may I add a joint application in my name and my son's name. The young lady was very nice as she requested MY personal information, soc.

sec # and date of birth. I refused as we never applied for credit with this lender. I am no looking for filing a charge with the BBB as well as the Attorney General.All I wanted was the origination of the application. She would help me without the information and I personally don't trust these big lending giants, once they have your name you are subjected to their random credit checks, which could be as frequent as every three months!

Obiviously there was was someone out there who used our names and information to generate this application!

If they do not want to work with innocent people who may be subjected to indentity theft, then they can deal with the legal ramifications of the my complaint! They can kiss my A__ and I will gladly bear it!

Don't whine anymore - do something about it. GE have no desire to resolve any issue; they just annoy the heck out of you, ruin your credit rating and expect you to cave from frustration.

Nor will they respond to your letter.

They tried with me, but I am fighting to the end.

Do an on-line complaint to the BBB in Ohio, their corporate headquarters. When I filed in Texas, due to their El Paso address this is where they filed the complaint. Go on-line and file with the Office of Thrift Supervision and the Federal Trade Commission.

It is very easy.

Once I filed with these agencies, GE finally deigned to answer my multiple correspondence. Only by fighting back the proper way can these bad business practices cease.

Was contacted by an automated dialer...called back..1 80* *** ****..a real person picked up and took my information then informed me my payment was late 7 days. My credit history as well as my payment history is immaculate on all of my bills.

A call like this concerns me so i asked the representitive to contcat me when payment is recieved. This totally confused her so i asked to talk to a supervisor. I was transferred to a supervisor who i made the same request to..again confusion and excuses as to why they cannot do that.

All of the payments sent to various creditors at the same time this GEMB payment was mailed have cleared my bank...makes me wonder if GEMB holds them before depositing to acquire late fees? Has this happened to anyone else?

All should file complaints with the OCC and the FTC for these fraudulant lending pratices. GE Money should not be allowed to lend money to consumers.

GE MONEY BANK

I purchased 4 chairs in June of 07 Opened a charge to get 10% off the price. Did not get a blll, called store and number they gave me 6 times, they never heard of me. My credit report showed up and after talking to India for 1 hour finally transfered to USA. Made online payment to pay off in full. Now they have turned my account over for collection for interest and late charges which I was told, due to their error I did not have to pay. I had another account with GEMB opened 11/06 paid in full 6/07 Credit report still shows it open with a balance of $ 8,950. Anyone ready to file a class action suite. That s the only to get their attention.

Bought a motorcycle a few years ago and it was financed thru GEMB, however when I got my first statement it showed the loan as a revolving credit card account with the balance of the bike, the amount of debit on the credit card. Because it reflected a balance of approximately 13K at the time it dragged my credit score down several points, as any high balance on a credit card would do.

I contacted GEMB and informed them several times that this was not a credit card account, nor did I have their credit card, but a motorcycle loan and they needed to report it the correct way to the three credit reporting agencies. However each time they refused and basically told me "too bad". This has been an on-going problem to which we paid them off as quickly as possible.

i can not believe misrepresenting a loan to the credit reporting agencies is legal or allowed, especially in this day and age. If a class action lawsuit if ever filed, count me in also.

GE Money Bank is full of (NOT BUSINESS) They will shut off your account if you have two backed out check within a 12 month span. I was a customer for 3 years and that happened to me without my knowledge account was current, they shut it off and reported it to a collection agency.

GE Money Bank are the largest scam artists in the nation! This is my experience as well as MANY others' experience with GE Money scoundrels!

1) Their offer is for interest free financing if the balance is paid in full after x-months, usually 18-24.

2) No matter if you mail in your payments, have autopay from your charge card, or direct debit from your bank account, GE will ALWAYS claim they did not receive your payment, or received your payment late. Why? Then they can add late charges! And of course, your last payment is always lost, therefore รขโ‚ฌล“you did not pay-off your balance in the predetermined time frameรขโ‚ฌย. Then they try to collect a huge interest payment effective from the inception date. Personally I mailed in a payment 1 month BEFORE the due date, and of course they processed it 1 day after the due date, then slapped on a late fee + random finance charge. YES, that is what they call it, a "random finance charge". Amusing, this random finance charge shows up EVERY month.

3) You cannot contact the company via e-mail; they ignore e-mail.

4) You cannot get a response via snail mail; they ignore your letters.

5) If you are willing to sit on hold for 45-60 minutes, and punch in your account number countless times, you may be able to reach a person with a pulse. In most cases, the employees speak horrible English! They cannot understand anything that is said to them. Which means another hold, so that the English speaking representative can talk to you and say "I don't have any records, I don't know what you are talking about, what you are saying is not accurate, now where is my money so that I can take my vacation to Hawaii next month!"

Count me in for any and ALL class action suits against GE Money Bank. You have my voice, my records and my experience to fight against them screwing their costumers!

Not acknowledging Exon Bill that was included in Bankruptcy

We have been trying for two days to get this matter settled so we can refinance. There is a GE Money Banks showing up with a judgement and an Exxon and a Home Depot card. We are not getting straight answers as to which account GE money Banks is connected to. The account # for Home Depot was 6035 32** **18 5868 and it was in my name (Deborah Lederer). The Exxon account # was 187 49* 195 * 4 003. The Home Depot account was paid of in October of 05 and the Exxon Account was included in a Bankruptcy in 05. We need verification that whichever account GE Moneybanks was associated with is paid off (no more money owed). We need help in getting this resolved asap and don't know where to go. We've been on the phone with GE Money Banks and several other places today.....getting nowhere.

GE Money Bank scammed me too

I had never heard of GE money bank until they called me on a Saturday morning and told me i was delinquent on my Lowes credit card and demanded payment. I have never been late on a payment and thought i had payed off the card since i hadn't received bills for 4 months. I only had 1 more payment to make before the promotion ended and the finance charges kicked in....so they stopped sending me the bills and called me 4 months later demanding i pay my remaining balance and an additional $150 in finance charges and late fees. Customer service was of little help and blamed me for not getting my mail. Absurd. I'll never do business with GE money bank or Lowes again. Don't fall for those great credit card promotion deals...they dont' pay off in the end.

Federal Trade Commission and Office of Thrift Supervision

not sending statements violates the Fair Credit Billing Act.

Did you know they had a customer loss in Oct 2007? Neither did I until I found it the news announcement on the Internet in Oct 08, but it was Jan 08 that they finally told anyone and did not make much effort to get the word out their customers.

Refuses to stop interest on account when the vehicle is totalled

I purchased a motorcycle several years ago,made all my payments in advance and when the bike was totalled at someone's irresponsibility I am the one suffering. Right after the accident I called GE Money Bank and advised them of the accident and that the insurance company would be paying it off. GE Money gave the insurance company someone else's account information and due to this mistake the payment was late. GE Money is expecting for me to pay the difference. They claim that the insurance company made the mistake and that I am still responsible for the balance. Which there wouldn't be a balance if they hadn't made the mistake to begin with!

Somebody take them out of business

These guys are bad news and ought to be taken out of business. They are rude and unhelpful. They are almost impossible to locate online to pay your bill, impossible to call (i've been on hold today for nearly two hours!), the website they give you to pay your bill at is incorrect, arrogant, unhelpful and unmoving when you do finally reach them, bills are intermittant....the list goes on and on. DON'T USE THEM!!! they will suck you dry before you know it. People like this should not be allowed in business because they are just there to prey on people who need the most help. There is more compassion in a brick wall than in this lot. I think their associate training manual lists in the first chapter that to work there you have to remove your heart, manners and kindness.

GE MONEY BANK SUCKS AND I HOPE THEY GO OUT OF BUSINESS AND NEVER RECOVER

I hate GE Money Company. The are the biggest fraud and I hope they go out of business and never recover. Don't believe in them when they said no interest or payment for certain amount of time. When I tried to pay my bill, it gave me conformation number and everything, but because of their *** computer error didn't take my money. They sent my account to the court when I was out of country and then to the collection agency. The collection agency guy was *** and rude and didn't know how to talk to the person. They are charging me $ 900, even it was not my mistake. Do not do businees with GE money bank at all if you want happy life

GE MoneyBank can't apply payments correctly

After wonderful service from LasikPlus involving surgery, they had me complete an application to pay for the surgery over 12 months, no interest, through GE MoneyBank. All went well until i tried to pay through the internet. They miss-applied my payment to an account that when I check online am told the account has been reported lost or stolen. Checking through their toll-free number, the account shows zero. I get a bill that says I have a credit balance. Now the only way to contact them is by mail. I want to talk to someone. I'm pissed.

Issued me $1000.00 Credit Card I never applied for

Person I talked to couldn't tell me how I got issued this card. He said I had to have applied for it somewhere, but I didn't. I canceled it immediately before validating it, and I am glad I did. No legitimate company should issue a credit card to someone who never applied for one. I am reporting this incident to the credit bureaus and better business bureau. No one needs this kind of company, and they should not be allowed to sucker people in by sending innocent people credit cards especially when the gas prices are making it hard for everyone to get by.

I am a victim of the exact same water filtration system fraud along with at least 13 others. Very shortly I will be filing a Consumer Complaint with the Attorney Generals office as well as a Private Criminal Complaint in Chester County.

Sederon is located in Montgomery County, however criminal complaints must be filed in the county in which the crime took place.

WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE OR AUTHORIZATION FOR THE CARD. sEDERON SAID THEY WOULD PAY IT .WELL THEY ARE NOT AND GE KNOWS THEIR SCAM. BUT NOW ITS TOO LATE.THEY GOT AN INTREST FREE LOAN.

I NOW OWE 7300 FOR A WATER SOFTNER WORTH 500. GE SHOULD NOT GIVE THIS CO CREDIT KNOWING THEY SCAM PEOPLE.
